Console players are finally getting their major tournament and prize pool!
Epic Games announced today the first-ever Console Champions Cup open to players only on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch. This competition serves as a Fortnite Champion Series (FNCS) of sorts for the console community. Epic Games notably removed the console track from the FNCS back in Chapter 2 - Season 4. Since then, non-PC players have long been searching for a tournament to call their own.
With a total $250K USD prize pool spread across Fortnite’s seven server regions, console players finally have their chance to shine. According to Epic’s blog post, the Console Champions Cup will occur seasonally and occupy an entire weekend of action. Let’s break down the many components of this tournament before it begins on May 14.
