Overwatch League: Atlanta Reign Releases Half Of Its Roster

The Atlanta Reign is bidding farewell to frd, Dogman, Erster, Pokpo and Saucy.

Earlier this month, the Atlanta Reign said goodbye to Anthony "Fire" King. Today, the team is stepping up its game by releasing not once, not two, but five players at once. The Atlanta Reign is releasing Nathan "frd" Goebel, Dustin "Dogman" Bowerman, Joon "Erster" Jeong, Hyun-jun "Pokpo" Park and Garrett "Saucy" Roland.

Except for Saucy, all other players have been with the Atlanta Reign for at least two consecutive Overwatch League seasons. Despite gathering experience both in the League and as teammates, the Atlanta Reign didn’t manage to do better this season than the previous. The team systematically ended up 5-8th during the May Melee, Summer Showdown and Countdown Cup. The Atlanta Reign took the 12th position in the League, and didn’t qualify for the Grand Finals.

The Atlanta Reign still has six players on its roster. In the absence of frd and Pokpo, the team is down to two tank players: Blake "Gator" Scott and Xander "Hawk" Domecq. Without Dogman and Fire, the team has two support players left: Seung-hyun "Lr1s" Kim and Petja "Masaa" Kantanen. To kill the enemy team, the Atlanta Reign lost Erster and Saucy, but can still count on Tae-hoon "Edison" Kim and Hugo "SharP" Sahlberg.
