LoL Rumor: Rogue To Sign Odoamne, Promote Trymbi From Academy

Rogue looks set to sign former Schalke 04 top laner Andrei “Odoamne” Pascu for their LEC roster in 2021.

Alongside Odoamne joining the roster, Rogue will promote Academy support Adrian “Trymbi” Trybus to the starting roster. He’ll replace the team's current support Oskar “VandeR” Bogdan, whose contract is up at the end of 2021, as a result, he’ll be put up for buyout.

Finn “Finn” Wiestål, will be leaving the roster with Odoamne set to replace him. Finn being replaced comes off the back of him being heavily criticized at Worlds, with his lack of champion pool being a common criticism. As with any of the deals in the pre-season, this one can not be confirmed until November 16.

Rogue looking forward

For Rogue, they had a decent Summer Split, finishing the regular season in third place, although they did lead the split for a long period of time. At Worlds, they got an unfortunate group and ultimately struggled to make a stand. If Rogue can keep hold of their star members, then the addition of Odoamne and rookie Trymbi could give the roster the extra edge it needs ahead of 2021 Worlds.

Odoamne does appear to be Rogue’s second pick, however, with Rogue the most likely home for former Origen (now Astralis) top laner Barney ”Alphari” Morris. Despite their best efforts, however, Alphari appears to be joining Team Liquid in the LCS, after Rogue wasn’t able to match Team Liquid salary offer.

Odoamne joins Rogue as a seasoned veteran in the LEC. He spent 2019-2020 with Schalke 04 Esports, who despite having a terrible Summer Split, had a strong rebound towards the end. In fact, they almost found themselves at Worlds. Before Schalke 04, Odoamne spent time with Splyce and H2k-Gaming.

As for rookie Trymbi, he spent his 2020 with AGO Rogue. Here, he finished second in the Polish regional league, before taking 1st place at the 2020 European Masters Summer Main Event. According to many sites, a number of AGO Rogue members are being considered by LEC organizations.
