ESTNN takes a look at some of the best trios heading into FNCS Chapter 2 - Season 4!
Fortnite’s Marvel-themed season is well underway after its release on Thursday. The general competitive fanbase seems thrilled about this season for a multitude of reasons. For one, the Pump Shotgun is back in the loot pool for after skipping Chapter 2 - Season 3. Additionally, It seems that, at least for the time being, overpowered Mythic items have not taken over the game. Perhaps the most exciting aspect of this season for competitive players is that trios will be the primary format in tournaments for the first time since Season X.
Players have already started forming themselves into unstoppable trios. Although we will not have the pleasure of watching the dominance of benjyfishy, Mongraal and mitr0 again, each region has a spread of talent looking to capture the elusive FNCS Championship. Let’s dive deep into recent trio competition results to see who will be contending often in Chapter 2 - Season 4.
BBG Kreo, BBG Bucke and TSM Khanada
Kreo, Khanada and Bucke emerged as one of the best trios from Chapter 2 - Season 3. These three NA East competitors kicked off the season with a win in the EmadGG Cup, where they finished ten points clear of second place. Kreo, Khanada and Bucke then proceeded to place top-ten in seven Trio Cash Cup tournaments. Two of those ten took place on NA West servers. Their consistency and chemistry won them thousands of dollars in Cash Cups. There’s no telling what these three outstanding players will accomplish with millions on the line in this season’s Fortnite Champion Series.
NRG benjyfishy, 100T MrSavage and ATL LeTsHe
You may not find a better trio across all competitive Fortnite regions than benjyfishy, MrSavage and LeTsHe. This combination of two keyboard and mouse players mixed with one of the best controller players is truly a sight to behold. These three dominant nearly every tournament they entered. Benjy, Savage and LeTsHe kicked off Chapter 2 - Season 3 with a victory in the Amar Trios Cup, where they bagged $4K USD.
These three proceeded to win the first and final Trio Cash Cup tournaments of the season. Additionally, they took first place in a slew of the Daily Trio Cups. There’s no telling what Benjy, Savage and LeTsHe are capable of in Chapter 2 - Season 4.
NRG Zayt, TSM Saf and Liquid STRETCH
Zayt and Saf are undoubtedly two of the best players in competitive Fortnite history. Their success spans across multiple seasons and tournaments. Most recently, these two won the FNCS Chapter 2 - Season 2. Add STRETCH to the equation and you have arguably the best trio in the NA East region. Zayt, Saf and STRETCH won Lachy’s Trio Cup to open the season, and went on to win a Trio Cash Cup tournament afterward.
This trio also placed top-three in two other Cash Cups. Catty Corner loot certainly played into their exceptional play last season, but these three are capable of picking a drop spot and dominating anyone who contests them. Expect Zayt, Saf and STRETCH to contend of multiple victories in Chapter 2 - Season 4.
BL Anas, Wave Flikk and Th0masHD
Another outstanding trio that emerged in Chapter 2 - Season 3 combined BL Anas, Wave Flikk and Th0masHD into one unstoppable force. These three did not form until week two of the Trio Cash Cups. After a sub-par 34th place finish in their first Cash Cup together, Anas, Flikk and Th0masHD bounced back with a victory. These three reached 179 points in week three, which set the precedent for what came next.
After winning the EU Cash Cup in week three, Anasm Flikk and Th0masHD won the NA East week three Trio Cash Cup on severely high ping. They earned the tiebreaker over NA East players Bucke, Kreo and Khanada. Anas, Flikk and Th0masHD are right there at the top in the European region.
Reet, Favs and EP wavy
Reet and favs are two of the most underrated players in competitive Fortnite. Competing out of the NA West region, Reet has become one of the best controller players in the world. Joining fellow controller play EP wavyjacob and keyboard and mouse player favs is one of Reet’s best career decisions. This trio first competed together in week three of Chapter 2 - Season 3. Reet, favs and wavy proceeded to win their first Trio Cash Cup together by nearly 20 points. A third-place finished followed in week four.
Reet, favs and wavy then closed out the season with a win in their final Trio Cash Cup tournament. The NA West region in Chapter 2 - Season 4 may be the story of two trios who will jockey for position. However, Reet, favs and wavy proved themselves last season in an impactful way.
100T rehx, 100T Arkhram, NRG EpikWhale
The second notable trio that came out of Chapter 2 - Season 3 features three of the best players in the history of Fortnite. Arkhram of 100 Thieves has been one of the best players over the last two seasons. He won the FNCS Invitational in Chapter 2 - Season 2 and followed that with a second-place finish in FNCS Chapter 2 - Season 3. He joined fellow 100T member rehx and NRG EpikWhale to complete an insane trio last season. What ensued we can only describe as dominance.
This NA West trio won the first Trio Cash Cup for Asia and then won their home region’s second Trio Cash Cup. Arkhram, rehx and EpikWhale that rattled off two top-five finishes and then rounded out the season with a 13th place. It feels as though the entire NA West region is battling for third as Akrhram and Reet look to lead their teams to a championship.
