CS:GO: Lekr0 Joins North

Former Ninjas in Pyjamas in-game leader Lekr0 links up with Danish squad North.

Former Ninjas in Pyjamas member Jonas “Lekr0” Olofsson has officially joined North’s CS:GO squad, the Danish organization revealed today. The 27-year-old has been without a team since being removed from NiP’s active roster in May. Lekr0 represented Ninjas in Pyjamas for two years, acting as in-game leader for most of that time.

Jonas “Lekr0” Olofsson gained notoriety in the CS:GO scene while playing for Godsent, the team reaching the semi-finals of DreamHack Masters Malmö 2016 shortly after its formation. Lekr0 transferred to Fnatic in 2017, reaching the quarter-finals of the Eleague Boston Major and later lifting trophies at IEM Katowice 2018 and WESG in back-to-back tournament victories.

Two Years With NiP

Lekr0 signed with Ninjas in Pyjamas in June of 2018, taking over as in-game leader shortly after his signing. During his tenure with the Ninjas, the Swede placed 3-4th at the ECS Season 6 Finals. He also placed second at BLAST Pro Series Copenhagen in both 2018 and 2019. The team also reached the play-offs of the 2019 IEM Katowice Major.

NiP faced declining results throughout 2020, and Lekr0 was benched from the active roster in May. He has been without a team since his NiP departure, though was briefly in talks to join Danish side MAD Lions, according to a DBLTAP report. The Swedish veteran now links up with North, taking the place of rifler Markus “Kjaerbye” Kjærbye, who recently left the squad in favor of FaZe Clan.

“We are extremely pleased to welcome Jonas into the North family,” says Graham Pitt, North’s Head of Esports Operations. “Jonas is a player both our Head Coach, Jimmy Berndtsson, and I have worked with extensively in the past years, so we know exactly what kind of a player we are getting in and outside of the game where we expect him to slot perfectly into his role on the server and the team culture.”

North currently stands as a Danish-speaking lineup, making Lekr0 the only Swedish player on the roster. North will next compete in the play-offs of Nine to Five 3, where they will be joined by teams like MIBR and Heroic.
